The event, which carried the theme “Sparkling at 10,” was graced by dignified guests from SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation led by president Elizabeth Sy; Peggy Angeles, executive vice president; Walid Wafik, CEO; and Neil Rumbaoa, director of marketing and development.
The list of stakeholders in the tourism industry and hotel guests who did not miss the memorable affair and felt at home at the hotel includes Generose Tecson, representing the Office of the Vice President-Davao satellite office; Vice Mayor J. Melchor Quitain Jr, city councilors; Department of Tourism (DOT) regional director Tanya Rabat-Tan; foreign consuls; SM Mall Group executives; business guests and media friends from Manila and Davao City.
A celebratory five-course wine pairing dinner was served with the premiere entrée, tuna grilled, to perfection wrapped in papillote and pan-seared blue marlin, seated on a bed of ratatouille and served alongside sweet potato and corn puree.
While having dinner, guests were serenaded by Mindanao’s local talent Davao Female Vocal and String Ensembles with a symphony of classic and contemporary musicals including Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman, and Sing.
The evening was capped with EMD tunes by Davao’s in-demand DJ Torch.
Opened on March 22, 2013, it is a 202-room hotel that is conveniently close to SM Lanang Premier and SMX Convention Center. All rooms and suites are featured with vibrant colors and thoughtful design that will give guests a feel-good vibe.
