Maya on the Block: ‘Juan-dering’ far and wide

Come to think of it. Travel and tourism are interconnected sectors that were among the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. After enduring the lockdowns and the restrictions, the wanderers in us rekindled the old zest for travel, which led to the birth of a phenomenon called “revenge travel.”

As they say, revenge is sweet. People are now packing their bags and eager to see the world again.

So, when was the last time you traveled and went on a holiday? Itching to travel far and wide?

Now you can satisfy that urge through Cebu Pacific’s Juander Far and Wide, which encourages every Juan to travel.

Recently, I was among the selected media practitioners from Davao City, Cebu City, and Manila to be invited by CEB to the launch of this latest campaign.

It was a star-studded affair graced by celebrities/influencers such as the “suki” of CebPac events adorable couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young, Denise Laurel, Issa Pressman, Marjorie and Dani Barreto, and Rica Peralejo; and the popular Manila influencers.

“The first time we were together was the first quarter of the year, parang it’s so long ago and now we are in the last quarter of the year and this is our last stakeholders event. When we met during the first quarter we announced all the big plans to happen in the year and now we are in the last quarter of the year, there is still a lot of stuff before us,” said Candice Iyog, CEB Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, during the Juander Far and Wide campaign held at the Blackbird at the Nielson Tower in Makati on October 9, 2023.

Cebu Pacific now lets you pack your bags and plan your next whirlwind getaway by offering a seat sale, which runs from October 1 until October 15. It allows travelers to book their flights to all domestic destinations for as low as P88 one-way base fare. International destinations are also on sale.

Upon booking, travelers can fly immediately until April 30, 2024, perfect for those who can’t wait to travel and those who are planning for their summer vacations next year.

With CEB’s latest seat sale offer, more Juans will be able to enjoy the unique delicacies and exciting water adventures in Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, and Iloilo. Explore the bustling metropolis and eat all you can in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore with direct flights from Manila, Cebu, and Clark.

But wait there’s more.

CEB has opened a new destination for Filipinos to visit.

Starting December 7, 2023, CEB will be operating three times weekly flights to Da Nang, its third destination in Vietnam.

Da Nang is a coastal city in central Vietnam well-loved for its sandy beaches and history as a French colonial port.

“This destination, I was told, has a very European vibe it’s more than the bridge of Vietnam but also a destination that feels different. You’ll find out in December,” Iyog said.

Currently, Cebu Pacific operates at 35 domestic and 24 international destinations, spanning across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

“In Cebu Pacific, we believe in making first moments happen. As such, we are grateful to all our passengers who have chosen to fly with us for their first international trips all these years. We hope to continue being a part of these wonderful memories with our customers as we aim to expand our operations and enable them to juander far and wide,” said Iyog.

In support of this expansion, CEB has so far accepted 12 aircraft deliveries and is expecting to receive seven more before the end of 2023 to meet the increasing demand for air travel and strengthen its operational resiliency.
