Maya on the Block: A microcosm of Asia in one table

Food is a bridge that connects people and cultures.

Asia encompasses various cultures, and when one speaks of Asia, what comes in mind are the Philippines, Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore among others. A nation’s cuisine can reveal a lot about its culture and tradition, and every nation has interesting tales to share.

If there is one thing that best describes these wonderful places, they are melting pot of fantastic cuisines.

However, you don’t need to go to these countries to taste their distinctive dishes as Acacia Hotel Davao is serving up cuisines from all over Asia.

It was a hectic week but we made sure to squeeze in a little quality time to drop by Acacia Hotel Davao ‘coz we did not want to miss their newest offerings at the Waling Waling Cafe and Luk Foo Palace Restaurant.

It was a feast from around Asia as we were served up with dishes that not only satisfied our tummies but also our senses.

It’s like a microcosm of Asia in one table.

For Waling Waling Cafe, they served us their newest Asian rice bowls: Bulgogi Rice (Korea), Nasi Goreng (Indonesia), Hainanese Chicken (China), and pork sinigang (Philippines).

For Luk Foo Palace: crispy spicy eggplant, salt and pepper salmon, crispy shrimp tofu, crispy beef brisket, and sea cucumber tendon.

We were also served with their well-loved dim sum sets.

These flavorful cuisines are available at the Acacia Hotel Davao until the end of the year.

MarComm Officer Jerce Rycil Luy said it is also possible that it will be added to the hotel’s menu next year.

I’m crossing my fingers.
