Maya on the Block: Throwback: Christmas away from home

This is a rather late story but just the same I wish to share it.

Last Christmas, I thought about going somewhere with my son but I was not really keen on traveling as airports were crowded with passengers.

Instead, we spent Christmas at Acacia Hotel Davao (AHD), and enjoyed all of their amenities.

I extolled the pleasures of running away from Christmas stress and letting the hotel do all the hosting instead.

It was the second year that I and my son spent Christmas away from home.

We were booked in a very spacious Family Suite of AHD.

It is designed for families and friends looking for coziness and companionship. The suite is tastefully furnished with a separate twin bedroom for more privacy as well as a comfortable living and dining space that is ideal for social gatherings.

We enjoyed the perfect balance of leisure and space, guaranteeing an unforgettable stay for anyone.

My son loves to swim so he did not miss taking a plunge on the hotel’s swimming pool with his cousins while I was relaxing with a refreshing beverage in hand by the poolside. What an oasis in the middle of the city.

For Filipinos, the Christmas season is about family and happy get-togethers, wherein the best part is food and one beloved holiday tradition is feasting at buffet restaurants.

We savored AHD’s Christmas dinner buffet menu with joyful, Christmas-y recipes that allowed us to “join the spirit” of the yuletide season.

It was indeed a celebration of the joy of togetherness and the magic of simply heartfelt moments with family, loved ones, and friends.

Waling Waling Café offered an ideal place for families, allowing everyone to relish a wide variety of dishes and enjoy the merry atmosphere.

On Christmas Eve, laughter echoed in the hallways of AHD as the guests, who opted to spend Christmas at the hotel like us, greeted each other.

And that was my Christmas story.
