STAY LEGIT   DCPO warns personnel against illegal activities

The Davao City Police Office is reminding its personnel not to engage in illegal activities.

“Our city director, Senior Supt. Alexander Tagum gave a stern warning not only to the police auxiliary but to all police officers under DCPO that if they engage in illegal activities they will be arrested,” said acting DCPO spokesperson, Senior Inspector Catherine dela Rey during an interview on Thursday.

She said that the warning does not only pertain to illegal drugs but to all illegal activities.

“We will not tolerate our personnel to do illegal things and those involved with illegal activities will be arrested and will spend Christmas behind bars,” dela Rey said

She said they will continue to cleanse their ranks.

“It will be difficult on the part of the police to implement the law if there is someone in our ranks who also do illegal drugs therefore there is a need to clean our ranks. I assure the residents of Davao city that all information they will give us will be handled with confidentiality,” she said.

She said that they will further intensify their background checks of their applicants for Police Auxiliary to prevent the incident from happening again.

On Wednesday afternoon, a police auxiliary was arrested in a buy-bust operation done by the Sta, Ana Police personnel and a team from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11.

Police authorities identified the suspect as Danny Boy Patulot, 46 and resident of YCF Village, Fatima, Barangay San Antonio, Agdao, Davao City.

Recovered from the suspect was suspected shabuamounting to P14,000 and drug paraphernalia.

He will be charge of violation of Republic Act 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
