JASPER BACSAL, Gen. Manager/VP for Operations
As a media company, Edge Davao is a certified millennial. Born in 2008, the eleven-year old newspaper is managed by a Gen X. That makes for an interesting combination.
While every generation of new managers steps into the role with little idea of what “a manager” really does or needs to be successful, Jasper Bacsal is no stranger to the smell of ink and the whirr of printing machines. He knew the territory but did not make the jump until he was ready.
Jasper was making a niche for himself in the sales business. He was Customer Development Manager for almost a decade at Unilever Philippines and worked as Mall Manager at the NCCC Mall of Davao. By the time he made the quantum leap, he was already a self-made manager.
Cool and calculated, Jasper exemplifies the genre of young and dynamic managers who connect their own tasks and responsibilities to the overall mission and vision of the organization, more engaged and have a stronger sense of shared purpose. The 38-year old young boss with a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Ateneo de Davao University is the paragon of Generation X tenacity. He not only manages other millennials in the organization, but also people in generations both older and younger.
With Jasper on board, Edge Davao and Zion Accuprint just got turbo-boosted.
