More than just a promotion of its soon-to-rise branch in Davao City, Lyceum of Philippines University (LPU) began its immersion into the Davao community through a free basketball clinic for aspiring Dabawenyo hoopsters on Saturday at the Ranchos Palos Verdes in Maa, Davao City.
A total of 60 aspiring hoopsters experienced first-hand the system of the LPU Pirates, which personally facilitated the clinic.
“Basically, the purpose of the clinic is for the LPU to share it’s knowledge about basketball and to allow the participants to experience the training program of the school,” LPU officer Joseph Deligero, said.
LPU coaching staff composed of Topex Robinson, Allan Layco, Gilbert Malabanan, Kevin Lavap, Ricky Reyes and Andro Acoritay were also in attendance.
The LPU Pirates, meanwhile, paraded its complete roster made up by Renzo Navarro, Jayvee Marcelino, Jaycee Marcelino, Reymar Caduyac, Niño Ibanez, Enoch Valdez, Mike Nzejsseu, Jeff Santos, Ralph Tsnsingco, Carl Lumbao, Spencer Pretta, Rhanzelle Yong, Jayson David and Cjay Perez against Holy Cross of Davao College Crusaders in one friendly game followed after the clinic.
