Power interruptions here set Thursday and Friday

Local energy distribution utility Davao   Light   and   Power   Company (DLPC) has announced 15-minute power interruptions within downtown area this Thursday and Friday.
Rossano Luga, DLPC vice president for corporate communications said yesterday that the power interruptions will be on April 26 from 10:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., and on April 27 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 a.m.
Affected by these service interruptions are power consumers along Magsaysay Avenue going to Quezon Boulevard and those in adjacent areas downtown.
Also affected are customers in portions of Juan Luna St., Padre Gomez St., Fatima St., Calle Putol, Guerrero St., Quezon St. and Zamora St.
Luga said the service interruptions are necessary in order to facilitate the replacement of rotten poles in the said areas.
“In order to keep the power interruptions within the least possible time, loads from those lines will be transferred to substation nearby. This will result to the two 15-minute switching outages,” Luga said. [Jade C. Zaldivar]
Luga said the company ‘apologizes for the inconvenience of these service interruptions.’
“[The DLPC] will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier,” he said.
However, Luga admitted the possibility of extending the power interruptions due to their repair and maintenance operations.
“There may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances,” he added.
The DLPC is currently promoting its text message service to inform customers of their balances.
“To get your Davao Light electric bill balance, just text ASKDLPC(space)BILL
(space)10-digit  ACCOUNT  ID  and send to 3913572 (Smart, Talk&Text and Red
Mobile  subscribers)  or  09229993572  (Sun and Globe subscribers),” Luga said.
The sender pays for the text to DLPC under regular rates but it is the DCPC who pays for their reply, he added.
