The regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD 11) continues the distribution of the one-time educational assistance for students-in-crisis and is employing a drop box mechanism for the submission of the requirements.

This is under the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program, the one-time Educational Assistance Payout to Students-in-Crisis can be used to pay for school fees, school supplies, projects, other fees, and allowances.

“Ang pamaagi lahi lahi in every region. In Davao Region naa ta’y gina employ na drop box mechanism wherein kung kinsa tong mga qualified na students-in-crisis dalahon nila ang ilahang mga requirements and ihulog sa drop box and they will wait for the message confirming kung kanus a ang schedule nila mubalik for the assessment,” said Atty. Vanessa Goc-ong, regional director of DSWD 11, during Kapihan sa PIA media forum on Friday.

Considered students-in-crisis are breadwinners, working students, orphans/abandoned and living with relatives, children of a single parent, children whose parents are unemployed, children of an overseas Filipino worker, victims of child abuse, have a parent with human immunodeficiency virus or HIV, and victim of calamity or disaster.

Each student will receive P1,000 (elementary), P2,000 (high school), P3,000 (senior high school), and P4,000 (college/vocational school).

Students/applicants need to follow the steps: go to the nearest regional or provincial satellite offices of DSWD Field Office 11; drop the requirements in the drop box along with the list of all family members, livelihood or source of income, birthdays, age of all family members and cellphone number; wait for the text of the agency for assessment schedule; interview and assessment; and releasing of assistance.

Students/applicants may bring a student’s certificate of registration/enrollment; a valid ID of a parent/guardian, and a valid ID of a college student/vocational education student who will receive assistance.

The payouts will be every Saturday until September 24, 2022.

“Kaning massive payout for educational assistance is scheduled for six Saturdays starting last August 20, 2022. Ngano every Saturday? Because naay klase on weekdays ug para ang atong mga estudyante na maoy mag proseso matagaan nato ug time on Saturdays,” Goc-ong said.
