Navigating through the city and making it to a destination on time is not all there is in taking a taxi. Comfort, convenience and safety are always and will always be considered by commuters.
To make transport freedom a reality for the commuting public in Davao City, ‘Grab-Philippines’ introduced to the city its car-booking application back in 2014, which includes services from grab taxi, grab car and is currently studying to introduce grab express for package and food deliveries.
According to Grab Davao City Manager, Jose Thor Villarreiz, Davao is the third city in the Philippines to enjoy the services of their company and has now a total of 1,300 drivers, earning a guaranteed income of P18,000 a month with at least 10 rides per day.
Villarez discussed the company’s operation in a speech he delivered before the Rotary Club of East Davao headed by Alvin B. Orteza, during the club’s regular luncheon meeting at the Marco Polo Davao. Tuesday last week.
He said the company continue to encourage more drivers in the city to take part in the Grab community of drivers and enjoy their highly-beneficial packages, which offers Red cross trainings, Grab family get away, Grab academy, medical services and accident insurance, granted depending on their respective quarterly quotas.
Villarreiz also highlighted Grab’s take on safety and convenience.
“We encourage them to pick up passengers, we give them incentives, we give them weekly, ‘papugay’, he said.
With passengers hailing from different locations, most especially in inaccessible places, grab drivers can be easily booked even on peak and unholy hours.
Grab has a 98 percent rate for the recovery of lost items, as passengers can easily track and contact their drivers through the application.
Grab has continually stood by their goal to solve critical transport challenges and has been the top taxi-hailing application for 3 years to date.
