From what started as a post-war lodging house back in 1948, Apo View became a sought after hotel in Davao City. With its seven decades of invaluable experience,  what better way to celebrate the years than with stories and memories that stood the test of time.

Today, Apo View Hotel is under the management of Global Comfort Group Corporation (GCGC), one of the country’s largest and fastest growing hotel chains.

With the leaves on its new logo symbolizing “new beginnings” under a new era, the Apo View Hotel never stops growing. With the fruits of hard work coming from the staff throughout the years, Apo View is now one of Davao’s most treasured institutions for the hotel and accommodation industry.

Now celebrating its 70th founding anniversary, Apo View Hotel continues to strive with the demands of the market by introducing innovations to meet the demands of the younger generation.

The management is working on a new kind of lodging experience — modernizing the hotel’s facilities, improving service and adding an international flair in the foods they offer.

As Davao’s most prestigious business hotel, Apo View now offers 182 well-appointed rooms that caters to various needs and price points. Further, the hotel is extending additional services such as travel arrangements, airport transfers, wake-up call and tour packages to local and foreign tourist visitors.

In a press conference, Hotel Manager Leah Jane Adolfo proudly shared the distinctness of Apo View Hotel from its competitors. “With the years of service, and with all the historical backgrounds and social events that it had surpassed, you can consider Apo View Hotel a heritage hotel. And with the wealth and experience that we had incurred, the hospitality of the staff, we can say that what differs us from other hotel,” Adolfo shared.

Area Operations Head Cesar Canabal meanwhile said that the hotel has housed families, companies, reunions, gatherings and other events. He also said that guests have been coming back again because of their excellent service and security and privacy standard. “If you ask anyone in Davao, a lot of people have a history here. They have a lot of story to tell, they have a lot of experiences here in Apo View. There are quite a lot, actually,” Canabal said.

During the Gala Night, Apo View awarded the #MyApoViewStory where stakeholders and guest share their most nostalgic stories during their stay in the hotel over the years. The contest first saw light during the city’s Araw Ng Dabaw (2018) celebration wherein countless of entries were shared and submitted. Some of whom shared their experiences anonymously.

In celebration of the Kadayawan, Apo View is more than prepared to accommodate tourists from all over the country. With an influx of more than 200,000 tourists, the management sees it as an opportunity for guests to experience Davao’s heritage and traditions as well as the top-notch accommodations offered by the hotel.

Times and architectural design may have gone a long way but one thing is certain, as promised, the signature touch will always stay – a reminder of Apo View’s unique brand of hospitality. (Ralph Lawrence Llemit)
