Two Davao del Norte-based contenders to the 2023 Search for Innovative Women Entrepreneurs made it to the top 20 among the 45 who vied at the national level.
Davao del Norte Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) posted online today that the Jane Vitorillo of Kusina University Online Training School (OTS) and Vilma Solilap of Mavil’s House of Mushrooms have ranked among the 20 winners of the “Women Helping Women Innovating Social Enterprises (WHWise): National Innovation Challenge – The Search for Innovative Women Entrepreneurs.”
Davao City entrepreneur, Leizel Salera Manabat of Buoyancies Business Accelerated Inc. also has made it to the top 20 recognized innovative women entrepreneurs in 2023 under the Women-Helping-Women: Innovating Social Enterprises Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
They will be receiving P100,000.00 worth of project grant from DOST, Davao del Norte PSTC told PIA Davao del Norte.
The national contenders to the Search presented their respective entrepreneurial innovations at The Bellevue Manila, Alabang, Muntinlupa City and the announcement of top 20 was made this morning.
Their entrepreneurial ventures were screened and nominated by partner DOST Regional Offices from Regions I, CAR, NCR, MIMAROPA, VIII, IX, X, XI, and CARAGA.
Per info of Davao del Norte PSTC, the judges of the 2023 Search for for Innovative Women Entrepreneurs were Dr. Cecilia La Madrid-Dy, the Commissioner of the Philippine Commission on Women and President of National Council of Women of the Philippines; Denise Patricia Dalusong, Gender and Inclusion Manager of Villgro Philippines; Professor Carlo Sagun, Executive Director of Bayan Innovation Group; Karla D. Legaspi of QBO Innovation Hub, the Head of Programs for Community and Ecosystem; Russell M. Pili, Chief Technology Transfer Officer of Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) and DOST patent agent; and Dr. Jinky Bornales, head judge and project lead of the iBLEnDNICE 4 WomEn (Innovation thru Building and Leveraging Entrepreneurship Development, Networking and Inclusive Community Engagement for Women Entrepreneurs).
