Del Rosario satisfied with election results in DavNor

Of course, not all local candidates he endorsed in the last elections won. But, Gov. Rodolfo del Rosario is still satisfied with the results owing to the fact that basically most of his chosen candidates came out victorious.
Del Rosario, who received a fresh mandate to serve as governor after running unopposed for reelection, led the provincial line-up of the Liberal Party in Davao del Norte in the last elections, following a falling out with the administration party.
He takes pride in the positive outcome in District 1, where all the mayoralty and vice-mayoralty candidates, mostly incumbents, under the LP won landslide victories.
Also, an overwhelming number of winning candidates for the city and municipal councils in the 1st district came from the LP.
It was not quite so in District 2, where Del Rosario’s mayoralty candidates, all new faces, did not make it.
However, the governor took comfort in the fact that most of the vice mayoralty candidates he supported in the 2nd district won. Likewise, a few LP bets for city and municipal councilors in the district won.
He noted that while the LP only managed to win one seat in the provincial board from District 2, but one LP bet for the provincial board from District 1 won.
The governor’s son, Anthony, also won a landslide victory as representative from District 1.
Meanwhile, incumbent District 2 representative Antonio Lagdameo, who is a grandson of the governor’s sister Doña Nenita Floirendo, also received a fresh   mandate after running unopposed in the last elections.
“I am very satisfied with the results,” the governor told the media two days after the country’s first-ever automated elections.
A total of 362 candidates vied to for 132 local elective positions in the province.
The governor asked everyone to unite and buckle down to work to reduce the incidence of poverty and move the province forward.
