The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) opened its mall-based consular office in General Santos City on Friday led by DFA Undersecretary Rafael Seguis.
Seguis told reporters that the opening of DFA consular office right inside the Robinsons mall is part of the Public-Private Partnership initiative of the Aquino administration.
Seguis bared that the DFA-Gensan consular office is the second mall-based regional consular office in Mindanao and the seventh in the entire country.
“This will make processing of passports more accessible and relaxing because it’s inside the mall,” Seguis said.
Compared to its previous location, DFA’s consular office inside the Robinsons mall is much bigger and can accommodate more people. With its opening, passport applicants will no longer have to queue in the heat of the sun while waiting for their turn.
