Urban gardening for food security

SM Foundation Inc. launched its 211th Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program at the Davao Food Terminal in Daliao, Toril last July 12. The KSK is a 12-weel long hands on training in urban gardening. SMFI partners with the local government of Davao City through the City Agriculturist’s Office and the City Social Services and Development Office, Department of Agriculture and Department of Social Welfare and Development in promoting food security. Attending the launch were Samuel Escamis of the Davao Food Terminal, CSSDO chief Malou Bermudo, City Agriculturist  Leo Brian Leuterio, SMFI AVP for outreach programs Cristie Angeles, councilor Nilo Abellera, Sr., SM City Davao assistant mall manager Warren Rey Bautista, SM Supermarket’s Leny Balante and SM’s regional operations manager Jonathan Nick D. Santos.
