2nd Grant in a row: Holy Child and USAID partnered again to provide out-of-school youth with education, employment, and entrepreneurship

DAVAO CITY – HOLY CHILD and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) partnered again for another opportunity to the Out-of-School Youth through Opportunity 2.0 project in providing quality education and competitive employment for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) completers.

Last May 21, 2021, HOLY CHILD College of Davao was awarded a grant for their first project from the Education Development Center (EDC) through the USAID Opportunity 2.0 program which they provided, discovered, and developed the technical skills of the Out-of-School Youth through the different trainings such as Animation NCII and Computer Systems Servicing NCII in preparation for their continuing education and competitive employment here in local or even abroad.
With this success of its first project, last January 20, 2022, HOLY CHILD College of Davao succeeded in its second project from the Education Development Center (EDC). This another opportunity coming from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Education Development Center (EDC) through the USAID Opportunity 2.0 program is to help the Alternative Learning System (ALS) completers in aligning their future jobs, continuing learning, or creating businesses to help sustain the needs of their families. In this project, HOLY CHILD College of Davao will open this opportunity to the 125 Out-of-School Youth (OSY) from the selected barangays and youth organizations here in Davao City.

In addition, out of 21 organizations and institutions, only 10 got passed for all the phases of their application process.

This successful project will be led by Jacques Axid Rosello as the project manager, Jeanie Delos Arcos, DIT as the monitoring and evaluation officer, and with the help and assistance of Ma. Chrystella Suzette I. Velasco, Vice President for Academics and External Affairs of the HOLY CHILD College of Davao. Together with the team are the lead instructors which are Geneva Buscabus, LPT, Edward Gapoy, LPT, Armadet Generosa, and Ronald Larita.
