Karlo Nograles, congressman of the first district of Davao City, is in support of the candidacy of Presidential son, Paolo Z. Duterte for the position.
“Paolo served Davao City in various capacities from Barangay Captain to Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) president and vice-mayor of Davao City, so he is very qualified to be congressman of the first district and I am sure during his term as congressman of Davao City, he will do a lot for our district,” Nograles said during an interview on Friday.
The congressman said that he will not be running for any position because he did not file his certificate of candidacy and there will also be no substitution for the midterm elections.
“So for now, since the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC), and I did not file for any position so I will just end my term in June 30 of 2019,” he said.
He said that he is also supportive to Mayor Sara and Sebastian Duterte’s candidacy for mayor and vice-mayor of Davao City.
“I will remain supportive to the President’s administration just as I am supportive of the administration of Mayor Sara Duterte and I am also supporting the candidacy of Baste Duterte as vice mayor,” he said.
The Duterte siblings filed within the period of filing. Paolo filed his COC on October 12, Mayor Sara filed her COC on October 15 and Basta filed his COC on the last day of filing for the midterm elections.
