20 Steel plant boxes along Buhangin Flyover approved

The Davao City 18th Council approved on third and final reading on Tuesday an ordinance authorizing the City Mayor to sign a deed of donation and memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation covering steel plant boxes along Buhangin Flyover.

The approved ordinance is under the Committee on Rules, Privileges, Laws and Ordinances chaired by Councilor Melchor Quitain Jr.

Under the Ordinance, the MOA is relative to the Fabrication and installation of 20 sets of steel plant boxes to hold flower pots with labor supplied.

The MOA states that the 20 steel planter boxes will be deployed at Dacudao and Agdao flyovers.

Based on the committee report, the primary intension of Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation is to donate the 20 steel plant boxes along Buhangin Fly-over.

It mandates that donation must include steel bars with plants, as part of its beautification and greening of the existing flyover structures in the city of Davao for the appreciation of both visitors and local residents.

According to Quitain, the donation is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of the company to contribute and support the local government unit of Davao.

The deed of donation shall be subject to the terms and conditions of the MOA executed by the City Government of Davao and Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation.
