Two brothers were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Monday evening in coordination of personnel of Talomo Police Station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 and Barangay Talomo officers.
Police identified the suspects as Judah Pugoy Chatto alias “Ton-Ton Pogoy”, 27, married, painter and a resident of Washington Basak, Barangay Talomo, Davao City and Israel Pogoy Chatto, 25, single, painter and a resident of Salakot, Barangay Talomo, Davao City.
They were arrested for conspiring and confederating with each other in selling one piece square shape plastic transparent heat sealed sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” to a police operative who posed as buyer in exchange of a prepared marked money of 1,000 peso bill.
Recovered from the possession of Israel are the prepared buy bust money, P120.00 cash money and one unit mobile cellphone while confiscated from Judah is one unit cellphone (Cloudlite) and one unit Tricycle Honda wave color black bearing plate number LA41823 with ignition key.
The drug confiscated had an estimated street value of P1,000.
The inventory of the pieces of evidence was conducted in the area of operation, duly witnessed by a representative from Department of Justice, George Murillo and local elected Barangay official, Kagawad Lorlie Gabriel.
“These siblings who were presently based in Barangay Talomo, Davao City allegedly had been subjects of complaints from the barangay officials due to their involvement in illegal drug trade,” Police Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, regional director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 11, said in a released statement.
Morales added that in order to deliver the illegal drugs to their clients, Judas disguised himself as a “payong- payong” tricycle driver.
The arrest of these brothers will create a reduction of illegal drugs supply in Barangay Talomo he said.
The regional director commended the operating troops for a job well done and said that PRO 11 will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs within the region and will keep reinvigorating its anti-criminality campaign.
