The city government of Davao will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Universitiy of the Philippines Mindanao (UP) Sports Complex to provide an avenue for advancing human, social, and economic development in Mindanao through sports.
Based on the draft MOA, the said DC-UP Sports Complex shall signify the unified effort of the Davao City Community and UP to provide an avenue for advancing human, social, and economic development in Mindanao through sports.
The MOA stated, that UP shall provide 20-ha sports facility within the titled facility in UP Mindanao.
“The UP is committed to lead in providing affordable quality education, scholarly research, and responsive and relevant estention services to diverse, marginalized and deserving sectors in Mindanao and neighboring regions,” the MOA reads.
The MOA also provides that both the City and UP for a joint undertaking in negotiating on the illegal settlers and occupants other affected illegal settlers of the said project.
Moreover, the City is entitled to provide for and secure the funding and budgetary requirements necessary to develop, build, construct, and implement the Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, The Davao City 18th Council approved the resolution on MOA between the City and the UP Sports Complex on first reading on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
The committee was passed under the Committee on Rules, Privileges, Laws and Ordinances of Councilor Melchor Quitain Jr.
