Davao on alert due to Typhoon Samuel

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office- Operation Center (CDRRMO-OC) is in alert level one in monitoring the weather disturbance cause by the Tropical Depression (TD) Samuel.

On the issued advisory by CDRRMO on Sunday evening, they have their representatives on standby for the possible effect of TD Samuel to the Tamugan riverside, Tigatto, Jade Valley, Barangay 19, Sangilangan Maa, GEM Village, Portions of San Rafael and Bangkerohan Riverside.

They also included the Bunawan river which could affect the Bunawan proper; Lasang River, which could affect Lasang River Side onwards the coastal area.

Based on the CDRRMO advisory, these areas have been alerted for possible flooding.

The CDRRMO-OC are coordinating, monitoring and sourcing out information regarding TD Samuel.

On the recent post of Civil Defense 11 on their social media page on Monday, the course of water brought by the TD Samuel might affect the  rivers and its tributaries in Compostela Valley particularly in Matibo and Hijo; the  rivers and its tributaries in Davao Oriental particularly in Cateel, Dapnan, Bagangga, Mahan-ub, Manorigao, Caraga, Casauman, Quinonoan, Bagwan, Mayo, Bitanayan, Sumlog, Tangmoan, Dacongbonwa, Kabasagan, Manay, Maya and Sumlao/ Cuabo; the  rivers and its tributaries in Davao del Norte particularly in Tagum-Libuganon, Tuganay, Saug and Lasang.

People living near the mountains slopes and in the low lying areas in the places mentioned near the river systems and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils concerned are advised to take necessary precautionary measures.
