Keep tourist spots, beaches safe: PRO

Aside from ensuring the cemeteries and other public convergence areas safe during the Undas holidays , Police Regional Office 11 Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales  has issued a memorandum to keep the tourist spots and beach resorts in the region safe.

“As of present information submitted by the provincial police stations and city police stations, there are no reported untoward incidents (in tourist’s spots and beaches) in the areas where our personnel are deployed,” Chief Insp. Jason Baria, spokeperson of PRO 11, told Edge Davao on Saturday.

Baria said that they have deployed police personnel in different tourist areas to man the police assistance desks. He said the personnel also acted as tourist police to help enable people to enjoy the beaches after the observance of Undas.

On a previous press conference, Morales said that since it is a long weekend they expected the influx of people going to tourist spots and resorts.

“After visiting their departed loved ones, they might spend the rest of the weekend in different resorts found here in the region, other tourist spots even our malls. We will secure these areas in order to have a peaceful celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day,” Morales said.
