The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Region reminded Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ) operators to impose the fare matrix provided by LTFRB in the region.
Recently, LTFRB received complaints about a jeepney driver collecting P25 for Toril-Roxas routre, instead of the usual P20 fare rate.
Cattleya Acaylar , LTFRB OIC regional director told this Edge Davao reporter, that PUJ drivers should impose immediately the proper fare matrix since there is a penalty of P5,000 for overcharging or undercharging.
“The city is not included in the recent fare hike for PUJs in NCR this month,” she added.
According to Acaylar, during their public forum conducted over the weekend at the LTFRB office, attended by PUJ drivers, operators, terminal and managers, they have agreed to impose the proper fare matrix.
Acaylar also urge PUJ drivers to explain the fare matrix to commuters accurately and courteously if ever passengers will complain to avoid disputes.
She added that there is also a penalty on employing arrogant and discourteous driver which pegged to P5, 000.
