Police operatives of Pantukan, Compostela Valley have launched a manhunt for a miner who hacked to death a fellow miner after a heated exchange Thursday evening.
Police identified the victim as one Sonny Ulo, 46, single, miner and resident of Bagong Silang, Sitio Panganason, Pantukan, allegedly by a fellow miner, one Albert Aquino.
Investigation revealed the victim was under the influence of liquor when he reportedly engaged Aquino in a heated argument.
Then, the victim allegedly punched the suspect prompting the latter to hack the victim several times. The victim sustained wounds in different parts of the body.
After the incident, suspect Aquino fled to an unknown location while the victim was brought to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Nelson Morales.
