Pamaskong Kabataan unfolds anew December

The Pamaskong Handog Para sa Kabataan sa Davao Project 2 will be conducted again this year.

According to Davao City Police Office acting spokesperson Sr. Insp. Catherine dela Rey, the police stations, headquarters and Davao City Mobile Force Company are already coordinating with some stakeholders to become partners in this project.

“Hopefully we will have our kick-off ceremony on the first week of December and our target is 10,000 beneficiaries,” dela Rey said in the weekly AFP-PNP Southern Mindanao Press Corps media forum  at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday.

Dela Rey added that some of their previous partners in this project have signified intention to double the number of toys and other donations for the kids.

She said the number of beneficiaries will vary per police station.

“Same as last year, the barangay officials will determine the beneficiaries because they are more knowledgeable on who are the less privileged kids,” she said.

She said that beneficiaries will be children in the age bracket of kindergarten pupils.

“The impact of Christmas to a child is different from us adults,” she said.

The project initiated last December 2017 was designed to give back to the community and become closer to the children.

The project, an outreach program,  is the way of police men and women to show their compassion for the marginalized and under privileged children in the city.
In the previous Pamaskong Handog it was held every week in the whole month of December, giving toys, books and food for the children to enjoy.
