Police rookies advised: ‘act as gov’t properties’

Much are expected from the 617 newly assigned Police officers 1 who took their oath before by Police Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, regional director of Police Regional Office 11 on Saturday morning.

In his speech, Morales said that much is expected from them since they are already government property and they are subjected to rules and regulations of the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the organization will not hesitate to dismiss them from the service or impose corresponding penalties for any erring acts.

Likewise, he advised his officers  to give their best in molding the recruits, so that after the training, they will be prepared and responsible police officers to serve and protect the people to the best of their ability.

He also requested the families of the new recruits to give their out-most moral support for them to be motivated to do good, efficient and effective in their chosen career.

“I want you to be guided by the virtues of discipline, teamwork, and commitment,” he added.

The recruits are composed of 488 males and 128 females form part of the PRO 11 regular recruitment program quota for CY 2018.

After the oath taking the newly appointed police officers were turned-over to Region Training Center 11 and was received by Police Supt. Arnie Cuaresma, Regional Training Director, who will also facilitate their reception rites at RTC XI, Mintal, Davao City.

The reception rites will help prepare the recruits physically, give them a glimpse as to what to expect in the training center and to remove the civilian mentality and embrace a regimented world where all moves should be within the ambit of the mandates of the organization.

The police recruits will be required to finish the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) for six months which be followed by another six months of Field Training Program (FTP) which will qualify them for permanency.

As PO1, they will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668.00 aside from allowances and other non-cash benefits.

According to Chief Inspector Jason Baria, spokesperson of PRO 11, these new PNP members will fill-up the slots vacancies for Police Officer 1 in the PNP as a result of the death; dismissal and retirements of the PNP personnel assigned within the Region.

“The new vacancies intend to beef up the manpower complement of the PRO to further strengthen PNP capabilities,” Baria said.
