The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 is satisfied with the deployment of police officers and force multipliers in Davao City during an inspection on Wednesday.
“I am satisfied with the deployment of personnel. All security packages are provided for bus and van terminals, airport and seaports even the checkpoints,” Police Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, director of PRO 11, told Edge Davao on Thursday.
Morales said that the inspections will continue all throughout the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls” Day locally called “Undas.”
The PRO 11 director assured the public that there are on-going inspections in areas assigned to his supervisors.
He said that this inspection will help assure the people that their security forces are ready for Undas.
According to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum, the security package is composed of police assistance desk, police security control point, and Intel-operative detectives who will be roving around to check people who will violate regulations and policies implemented by the city government of Davao City and police officers in charge in perimeter security, He said there will be officers in-charge of traffic management in the areas affected by re-routing scheme.
Tagum said that there are patrol units focused in securing the residential areas in the city.
The patrol units will roam around residential areas and subdivisions, in order to ensure the safety of the area and prevent any robbery incidents prevalent during last year’s Undas.
“During the time that they are away from their houses because they went to visit their departed loved ones, we (from DCPO) will not take this for granted, I assure you that those criminals who are planning to rob the vacated house will not have an opportunity to do so,” Tagum said.
He also urged the public to stay vigilant, cooperate with police authorities and repor suspicious activities or persons in the area to help authorities do appropriate action.
