PRO 11 to host SWAT national competition

After securing Davao Region  through Oplan Kaluluwa in line with the celebration of Undas,  the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 will host the National Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Challenge in Davao City.

“After their activities during Undas, our personnel will be given one day rest and on November 5 to 10 we will be busy again as PRO 11 will host the National SWAT Challenge,” according to Chief Insp. Jason Baria, spokesperson of PRO 11, during the weekly AFP- PNP Southern Mindanao Press Corps media forum at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday.

Baria said the firing range in Maa, Davao City is being prepared for the event and after the Undas, Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, regional director of PRO 11 will conduct inspection in the area.

The billeting area of the participants is also being prepared because there will be participants coming from other regions to participate in this event.

A total of 60 people will participate in the event.

“On November 10, there will be game for generals which will be participated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” he said.

There will be separate awards for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and AFP winning participants, he said.

Baria said no less than  President Rodrigo Duterte will grace the opening day of the event.

The competition will be composed of 12 stages particular on marksmanship, close quarter battle, sniping challenge and physical agility.

“It will showcase the ability of your SWAT in performing their duties,” he said.

Cash prizes will be given to the winners.

“We cannot give the details as to how much the cash prize is but there will be (cash prize) allotted for the winners,” he said.
