Three persons were arrested and another three were killed in anti-illegal drug operations on Friday.
At three o’clock in the morning, a simultaneous implementation of search warrants were carried out in coordinated operations by a team comprised of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 11, Tagum City Police Station and a team of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11.
The search warrants were issued by Hon. Judge Oscar P Noel of RTC Branch 38, Justice on wheels (JOW), Saranggani Province, for violation of Sec. 11, RA 9165 better known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the suspects for their involvement in illegal drugs.
This operation resulted in the death of the three suspects; Bryan Dompol, Rene Luayon and Edwin Rosolla after an armed confrontation with the authorities.
“Let this serve as a stern warning against unscrupulous individuals who maintain a hard stance against the law and remain on the dark side committing lawlessness against the peace loving and law-abiding citizens of this region. We assure the people of Davao Region, that as your Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11, I will ensure that crime will be at its lowest and that peace and order will be maintained in the best way possible,” Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, regional director of Police Regional Office 11 said in a released statement.
Police identified the suspects as Bryan Dompol, resident of Purok 3A, Canocotan, Tagum city, Davao Del Norte.Recovered from the scene were one Magnum .357 Revolver with five live ammunition, one fired cartridge case (FCC) of Magnum .357 ammunition, three FCC of cal .9mm ammunition and three pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Rene Luayon alias “Abloy” resident of Purok 3 Canocotan, Tagum city. Recovered from the scene were: one Magnum caliber .357 revolver with five live ammunition, one FCC magnum .357 ammunition and two pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Edwin Rosalla caught at Purok bulaklak, Barangay North, Tagum city. Recovered from the scene were: one .38 caliber revolver with five live ammunition, one FCC.38caliber ammunition and three pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Recovered from Bambi Nueva possession are four pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Marlon Ponce recovered from him were four heat sealed plastic sachets believed to be shabu.
Edward Benisilon, recovered from his possession are of two pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, all three are resident in Brgy. Canocotan, Tagum City.
However, one of the suspects named Sofronio Samson who is also a resident of Brgy. Canocotan, Tagum City, was not around during the search but the teams recovered from his house two pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) 11 and Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) Team processed the scene of encounters in the presence of the witnesses. The recovered pieces of evidence from the scenes will be subjected for forensic examination.
According to Chief Inspector Jason Baria, spokesperson of PRO 11, appropriate cases are now being prepared for filing against the suspects who died in police operations through regular filing and the arrested suspects through inquest proceeding.
