Police Major Jason Baria of the PRO 11, during the AFP-PNP press briefing held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, April 24, said that PRO 11 has landed on the second spot in the entire country after its crime solution efficiency increased to 85.41% compared to the 74.34% of same period last year in the latest list released by Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) chief Police Colonel James Goforth of Philippine National Police (PNP) National Headquarters in Camp Crame.

“Ito po yung crimes committed under sa index crimes ng PRO 11 na na solusyunan na po,” Baria said.

He explained that the crime solution efficiency has two phases, the first one is the crime clearance efficiency where the suspect has been filed with legal charges but hasn’t been captured yet, while the other is the crime solution efficiency where a suspect is already under the custody of the authorities and legal charges has already been filed against the him/her.

Baria, however, said Police Brigadier General Marcelo Morales, regional director of PRO 11 noted the continuous implementation in enhancing police operations and the Oplan Tokhang with a remarkable decrease of 3.91% in crime incidents in Davao Region.

Based in the statistics gathered throughout the Davao Region, Baria said the crime volume amassed 3,564 from January to March 2019 which dropped by 145 from last year’s 3,709 data.

Among eight Focus Crimes, robbery decreased to 41.94% while murder rate also dropped by 19.51%.

Incidents of rape slumped by 39.29% as theft cases reduced to 30.34%.

Physical injury and homicide also went down by 27.01% and 5.56%, respectively.

“According to the PRO 11 regional director, the said drop in the rate of theft, robbery and physical injury can be attributed to the PNP’s strict enforcement of local ordinances which we incorporated in the implementation of Oplan Dabaw Kalinaw in the region,” Baria reiterated.

Further, Baria said this quarter has been very busy for the police agency especially in providing security coverages and other public safety services for all national and local events.

PRO 11 also vowed to continue performing its task of protecting life, liberty and property of the people while making sure that legitimate dissent is respected and be done within the bounds of law.
