The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is now accepting project proposals for the 2020 cultural and arts grants.
“We would like to make individuals, local government unit or associations to be part of the program of the agency especially in the cultural development,” NCCA executive director Rico Pableo made the announcement during the Kapehan sa PIA on Friday, July 12.
NCCA said it wants to encourage artistic creations and to empower artists and cultural workers. The commission also aims to create a localized culture and arts agency to better address the need in promoting and preserving Philippine culture and arts.
The project proposals for competitive grants are categorized into Arts; Heritage; Cultural Dissemination; and Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts. Proponents can only pass one project only from any one of the categories.
NCCA’s competitive grants range from P100,000 to P1 million depending on the project range and needs, according to Abubakar M. Datumanong, NCCA National committee on Southern Cultural Communities vice head.
The NCCA competitive grants is anchored on its vision to set Filipino culture as the wellspring of national and global well-being and aligned with the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022.
