Man with P1.1-M worth shabu nabbed in Toril

A 37-year-old man who attempted to sneak in a P1.1 million worth of illegal drugs was arrested at the Task Force Davao checkpoint in Barangay Sirawan, Toril. 

Task Force Davao commander Col. Consolito Yecla identified the suspect as Aiveen Rey Alimpoos, a resident of Km 12, Balinao Site, Barangay Sasa. 
Yecla said Alimpoos was riding his motorcycle from Digos City, Davao del Sur, and when he stopped in the said checkpoint, one of the TF Davao personnel noticed something in the behavior of the suspect who was seen throwing an object on the ground. 

He said the personnel immediately asked the assistance of Toril Police Station to frisk the suspect but Alimpoos attempted to resist but was later on subdued. 

Authorities recovered from Alimpoos’s possession 17 sachets of shabu weighing around 69.79 grams. 

Alimpoos is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 

Yecla bared a total 242.92 grams of suspected shabu worth P3,600,840.00  were seized this year either in their checkpoints or  joint buy-bust operations with the Davao City Police Office.
