The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 is now preparing its Regional Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) for possible augmentation response on Sunday’s explosion of Taal Volcano in the Province of Batangas.
In a statement, PRO 11 regional director Brig. Gen. Filmore Escobal said he already conducted an accounting of RSSF personnel this morning (January 13) for the possible deployment in Luzon.
Escobal said he has sought the help of RSSF in the relief operations that the Local Government Units in the said area of responsibility would conduct in case they will call.
Escobal said the PRO 11 is in full support to the activities of PNP and willing to extend our services to the victims of Taal Volcano eruption.
“We are one in prayers for the safety of the people in the province of Batangas and its surrounding provinces.” Escobal said .
Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa has ordered the PNP units surrounding the area of Taal to be in full alert status.
Gamboa also sent six large trucks which helped in the evacuation of people around Taal Volcano.
Based on the recent report from Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the Taal volcano released ash plume reaching at around 10 to 18 kilometers on Sunday.
With its recent activities, the Phivolcs raised the alert level 4 over Taal which signaled the imminent hazardous eruption; and further indicates possible occurrence of tsunami.
