Police station commanders in Davao City were reminded to intensify efforts in preventing crimes and patrolling operations particularly in crime-prone areas in Davao City.

This is in line with the launch of “Patrol Rehiyon Onse” by the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) on May 24, 2023, which aims for a more effective patrol system.

Kani sila ang partners nato sa kadalanan,” said Police Major Catherine dela Rey, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on Monday.

Dela Rey said city director Police Col. Alberto Lupaz ordered the station commanders to intensify patrol in the crime-prone areas in Davao City.

“Patrol Rehiyon Onse” is a standard operating procedure (SOP) that provides the policy guidelines to be undertaken by concerned Police Provincial Offices (PPOs) and Crime Prevention Officers (CPOs) in enhancing and firmly establishing patrol operations as the nucleus of all police operations in the police stations.

Among the SOPs is upon entry, the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD) shall ensure that all police officers with the rank of patrolman and corporal shall remain to be assigned to the patrol unit. They can only be assigned to other units after serving at least three years as patrol officers and similar field functions and only after they have acquired and shown proficiency in patrol operations and other basic police functions.

In his message during the launch, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. emphasized that the PNP shall be relentless in the anti-criminality campaign through intensive police visibility and sincere police presence.

He also declared that the PNP will not rest until every Filipino feels safe and secure at home, on the streets, and in their places of work.
