The body of a 16-year-old student was found at the top of a gravestone at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Purok 7, Kawayanan, Brgy 8-A, Davao City on Thursday morning.
The responding operatives of San Pedro Police Station identified the victim as Christopher John Gonzales Reuyan, a resident of Purok 8, M.I.H., Brgy 8-A, Davao City.
The police station reported that the body was found by Zaldy Birondo Madamba.
Madamba said he was roaming around the Roman Catholic Cemetery when he found the body, which was already in decomposing stage.
Based on the account of the victim’s father, Jomar Tupaz Reuyan, when he arrived home from work on Sunday, December 17, 2023, he noticed that his son was not around and never returned since then.
The victim’s friend, John Mar Isidro, claimed that both of them along with their friends ate at Bulaloan eatery in Bankerohan and went home at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
He said they went their separate ways upon reaching the said cemetery.
According to the authorities, the father has not yet decided whether the body of the victim should undergo an autopsy.
