The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has deployed a huge 1,531-man security team for the holding of the 2024 Davao Regional Athletics Association (DAVRAA) Meet, which opened at the Davao City-UP Mindanao Sports Complex in Mintal, Davao City on Monday.

DCPO director Colonel Richard Bad-ang has already deployed personnel days before the opening of DAVRAA to secure the event area and delegate billeting areas before the delegates’ arrival.

During the opening, DCPO, along with other security and safety clusters, coordinated the efforts and the assistance of all involved parties for the success of the activity.

The deployment of personnel is from March 28, 2024 to April 7, 2024.

DCPO reminded the athletes and visitors to adhere to the guidelines set by the city government of Davao and to observe the Culture of Security within the city for the safety of all DAVRAA delegates.

The Culture of Security is a people-centered campaign that encourages Dabawenyos to adopt vigilance in their everyday life.

Carrying the theme “1 Team 1 Dream, Shaping Filipinos Sports Champion,” this year’s DAVRAA is participated by 7,835 athletes from Davao City, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, Davao Oriental, Digos City, Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS), Mati City, Panabo City, and Tagum City.
