Members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) deplored Monday’s early morning raid made by fully-armed joint forces of the Special Action Force (SAF) battalion and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) forcibly entered the KOJC compound in Buhangin, Davao City to serve the warrant of arrest against KOJC founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and five other co-suspects.

There was momentary tension when the KOJC members resisted and prevented the CIDG and SAF personnel from entering the compound.

A little before 7 in the morning, personnel of SAF and the CIDG left the KOJC compound.

Personnel of the Philippine National Police-CIDG (PNP-CIDG) also raided the Glory Mountain and Prayer Mountain in Tamayong, Calinan District on Monday. The property is owned by KOJC.

Based on the photos shared online by the members of KOJC, personnel of CIDG and PNP arrested and handcuffed some individuals in the Tamayong property.

Meanwhile, Major Catherine dela Rey, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) said that the warrant of arrest was served against Quiboloy, Jackiely Roy, Brgy. Tamayong chair Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Camanes for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, specifically the provision on sexual abuse of minor and maltreatment.

“Yung nangyari kanina sa different places like yung sa Kingdom of Jesus Christ and Glory Mountain in Tamayong ay serving of the warrant of arrest against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy,” Dela Rey told the Davao media.

The CIDG and SAF personnel failed to arrest Quiboloy as he was nowhere to be found in all the properties.

“Negative hindi natin nakita ang mga subjects for the warrant of arrest kanina,” Dela Rey said.

Dela Rey rebuffed reports that what happened was an overkill saying the police officers sent were enough for the serving of a warrant of arrest because the properties of Quiboloy are also large.

“Peaceful naman yung nagyari ng pag-serve ng warrant of arrest. Although, may konting resistance at first pero after negotiation pinapasok naman tayo sa Kingdom and Glory Mountain,” she said.

On individuals being handcuffed, she said she is still waiting for the reports on the matter.

When asked why served the warrant in the early morning, Dele Rey said serving of warrant of arrest can be done any time of the day.
