A piece of heaven at Pearl Farm

Secluded in an island off the coast of Davao City is Pearl Farm Beach Resort. Apart from being known as a luxury resort in Samal Island and a protected natural environment, the resort is also a haven of handicraft products.

Local artisans handicrafts, home decors, and accesories are excellent mementos to take back home as gifts and “pasalubong.”

The coffee and souvenir shop or “Butik” at Pearl Farm Beach Resort is stocked with tempting range of these items. It is a haven of arts and crafts such as jewelries and home decors designed by Maricris Floirendo-Brias.

The shop also stocks many everyday items to make your stay more at the resort enjoyable from native outfits, t-shirts, mugs, tumblers, key chains, ref magnets, trendy beachwear and whole lots of knick-knacks.

Inside the shop is the Mandaya Weaving Center. Guests can enjoy the scene of Mandaya tribeswomen skillfully weave their traditionally exotic and colorful handbags, mats, clothing and other ornamentation.

The Mandayas are well-known for the ethnic cloth that they weave called “dagmay”, which distinguished by the intricate figures and patterns depicting the tribal folklore and religion.

One of the weavers is 50-year old Erlinda Masumpad, a Mandaya, is weaving “dagmay” at Pearl Farm’s souvenir shop since she was 25 years old.

“Dagmay” is made of dried abaca fibers are dyed in different colors and used as threads using old weaving techniques which is a tradition that is being preserved and a handed-down ancestral heritage onto their children to sure it will not get in time.

The resort is now accepting reservations worldwide. In line with the Joint RIATF-RTF XI Resolution No. 01 – Uniform Guidelines to Regulate Entry and Exit in Regional Borders of Region 11, guests within Davao Region are required to provide the following upon confirming the reservation: government issued ID with address and date of birth; for kids ages 6 – 12 years old school ID or birth certificate.

Guests from outside Davao Region must present the following upon entry to Region 11: negative RT-PCR results taken within 72 hours, resort booking confirmation; and StaySafe.PH application.
