Over the past two decades, Damosa Land, Inc. (DLI), the property development arm of the ANFLOCOR Group of Companies, has been at the forefront of real estate development in the island.
DLI continue transforming the real estate landscape of Davao Region and Mindanao by developing and leasing a range of properties including residential, modern hotels, retail establishments, IT parks, industrial parks, and commercial complexes.
Recently, DLI celebrated its 20th year with a gala night held at Bridgeport in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) wherein guests were treated with the panoramic view, the pristine water and the skyline of Davao City.
If there’s one thing that DLI President Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo could say it was “blest.”
“One thing that came to me was blest. I think that is one thing that we have. Over the last 20 years, I think what happened with Damosa Land we’ve been truly blest and why do I say that? Damosa Land is a company that started 20 years ago,” Lagdameo said.
Damosa used to be Davao Motor Sales. It was a car dealership established by the late Don Antonio Floirendo in Mindanao in 1948.
“That’s how he got started in Mindanao. Distributing Ford vehicles all over the whole island of Mindanao. But who would have thought that several decades later it became a real estate company,” Lagdameo said.
Among DLI’s accomplishments for 20 years are the developments of Damosa Gateway; Damosa Market Basket; PEZA-accredited Damosa IT Park; Davao Fairlane, a high-end residential project in Davao City; Seawind, a low-rise condominium; Agriya, the first agri-tourism city in Davao Region; Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE) in Panabo City; Damosa Diamond Tower, which offers space for various corporate firm; Valley High, a leading lifestyle center in General Santos City; expansion of Microtel by Wyndham in General Santos City; and Regus in Cagayan de Oro.
DLI is still developing Bridgeport, a mixed-use project on Samal Island and Kahi Estates, a 4.5-hectare boutique community located along Libby Road, Brgy. Bago Gallera, Davao City.
“That is why I feel we are so blest. We were given this opportunity as a company to shape these great pieces of land that I guess accumulated over the years and transformed them into something to what we have today and we have our late founder Don AOF for that,” Lagdameo said.
This is the story of DLI and through the 20 years and started from the great foundation that metamorphosed into a vibrant business hub with a lot of commercial centers, and office spaces, bringing in probably the first BPO in Davao City.
This shows how resilient this company is. Imagine 20 years it has done so much in five major cities in Mindanao, from Davao Region to General Santos City and Cagayan de Oro City.
DLI is coming in full circle.
“It puts a smile on my face when I think about it maybe Damosa Land is coming in full circle. Because Davao Motor Sales and the whole automotive industry that AOF established before us was Mindanao-wide and here we are we’re developing all over Mindanao. One city at a time, one quality development at a time, and most especially the people of Mindanao are the heart of all of that,” Lagdameo said.
The celebration was highlighted with a beautiful fireworks display.
