Maya on the Block: Stars are aligned at Nustar

Christmas is upon us.

Malls started decking their halls with cheerful Christmas decorations and lit up their enchanting Christmas trees consistent with the idea that the Philippines has the world’s longest yuletide season.

Last month, selected media practitioners and influencers from Davao City, Manila, Iloilo City, General Santos City, and Cagayan de Oro City were lucky to get invited to travel to the Queen City of the South, Cebu City, and witnessed the aligning of the stars that marked the kicking off Nustar Resort and Casino’s, the premier lifestyle destination in Visayas and Mindanao, whimsical Christmas.

Nustar Resort and Casino illuminated a 35-foot Christmas tree at the Atrium adorned with twinkling lights, large butterflies with fluttering wings, shiny silver and gold ribbons, ornaments, and lovely flowers in rich jewel colors.

Adding glow to Nustar’s holidays is its tradition of giving back to the community.

For three years, Nustar has maintained a cherished tradition, where esteemed members of the community, its Star Bearers, were invited to carry symbolic stars that represent love, hope, peace, and joy, illuminating the tree with values that Nustar holds dearly.

This year, the property invited changemakers who best represent each value—individuals who have made a positive impact in their respective fields and embody the spirit that each star represents.

These influential figures placed their stars on the tree accompanied by the Sistemang Pilipino scholars.

The fifth and final star was carried by the property’s COO, Alan Teo, completing the radiant display of unity and celebration.

This tradition reminded everyone of the deeper meaning behind the festive season, a blend of tradition, purpose, and community.
Before the lighting affair, Nustar also unveiled a “NU universe” with the new look of its NUSTAR Rewards cards.

We were treated to a night filled with wonder – from ethereal LED walls to captivating body-painted models who took to the runway to showcase the new cards. The event was nothing short of out of this world extravaganza.

The night unfolded with details on the enhanced benefits of the new Nustar Rewards Card. Members can look forward to a universe of rewards that extends beyond the gaming floor, featuring curated experiences tailored to their unique lifestyles.
