Bonleon upbeat as he takes on coaching role at San Sebastian

San Sebastian head coach Arvin Bonleon hopes to steer the Stags to new heights in the NCA Season 100.

Newly-appointed San Sebastian College-Recoletos head coach Arvin Bonleon hits the ground running for the upcoming NCAA Season 100 set to start in June.

The former head coach of Davao Occidental-Cocolife Tigers in the MPBL assumed the role as the new bench tactician of the Stags replacing John Kallos. Bonleon, once the youngest player in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) playing for the Davao Eagles, was the academic choice for the position after Cocolife assumed the basketball program of the Stags.

“Believe in your abilities, trust in your training, and play with passion. As you step onto the court, know that your hard work will shine through. Good luck, Bravo Baste players! Leave it all on the court and show them what you’re made of!” said Bonleon on his social media page. He met the players in a television guesting a few days ago,

Basketball legend Allan Caidic was taped as consultant to assist Bonleon who also tapped his brother Nonoy Bonleon, Nelson Ramilo and Raysal Castro as part of his coaching staff. Joey Protacio will sit as team manager.

Bonleon inherited a team that finished with six wins and 12 losses last season.

Pilipinas Super League officials Rogelio Baribar (CEO) and Cris Bautista (President), and PSL Consultant and Cocolife Senior Vice President Joseph Ronquillo were named as official sponsors of the team.
