Tiffany (Jiwon) Lee is one of the players to watch in the ICTSI Worldwide Link Philippine Ladies Masters scheduled Feb. 12 to 14 at The Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The Manila-based Korean has been training hard to improve her game and be ready for the tough challenge ahead in the 54-hole event offering a total of USD200,000 in cash prizes.
“I’m very excited. It’s overwhelming in a good way, and it’s a great opportunity for me to push myself to the limit,” said the 16-year-old Lee on Friday, who won the LPGT Lakewood Championship as an amateur and the LGPT Splendido Taal in her professional debut.
“I’ve been practicing a lot to prepare for this event. I’ve been working on my iron accuracy to help me get those birdies in, and I’m looking forward to executing that during the tournament,” she added.
The tournament, which is the first Korean LPGA sanctioned event to be held here, features the top 50 players from both the Korean Dream Tour and the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA) and 32 players from the LPGT.
Leading the foreign entries are Korean Hwang Yoona, winner of the Indonesian Open last month, TLPGA bets Li-Ning Wang and Ching Huang, and Thai stars PK Kongkraphan, Saraporn Chamchoi, Chonlada Chayanun and Kamonwan Lueamsri.
Dottie Ardina, Pauline del Rosario, Princess Superal, Harmie Constantino, Daniella Uy and Yvon Bisera banner the Philippine campaign. (PNA)
