STA. CRUZ, Davao del Sur, (PIA) – The Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office (DSPPO) launched the “Kaligkasan” (Kaligtasan at Kalikasan) Volunteers Program held early morning on Thursday (May 16) at the gymnasium of Barangay Bato, Sta. Cruz.
DSPPO Provincial Director PCol. Alan B. Manibog led the activity which was highlighted by lectures and training on DENR programs and environmental law.
The DSPPO personnel and other participants in the municipality joined in the coastal clean-up activity at Sitio Lawis, Brgy. Bato, after they took oath as new members of the “Kaligkasan” volunteers.
The “Kaligkasan” Volunteers Program was inspired by the Boracay and Manila Bay Coastal Clean up.
The other participating agencies were Davao del Sur Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Army, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams Franklin Baker, and other volunteer groups. (DSPPO PIO)
