DA TienDA invades Davao de Oro

The Department of Agriculture through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) in coordination with the Compostela Valley Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRO) launched its first Provincial TienDA in Nabunturan.

Dubbed as ‘TienDA sa Davao de Oro’, the event serves as a marketing strategy which ensure consumers to have an affordable locally-grown agricultural products fresh from the farm at farm-gate prices.

“The province showcased their fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and seafood products. Through this event, buyers are given access to safe and affordable goods while our farmers gain profit,” said Mary Juvy Pregon, Market Specialist II of DA-AMAD.

The event gathered more than 15 farmer-exhibitors from various municipalities of the province allowing buyers to choose from a wide array of foods and agri products at affordable prices.

It will be open to the public every 3rd Monday of the month at the provincial capitol lobby.

“I am encouraging all farmers from the province to promote their products as this will not only increase their income but also establish new clients and market linkage,” said Crisan Dayoc, Provinicial Agribusiness coordinator of Compostela Valley Province.

A total of P20,000 worth of sales was recorded during the event.

Apart from the Provincial TienDA, DA continues to provide farmers a sustainable outlet in the province through TienDA Para sa mga Bayani at the 10th Infantry Division headquarters in Tuburan, Mawab, Compostela Valley Province.

It is open every 4th Thursday of the month and every farmer-exhibitor recorded an income of P5,000 per day. (Feliz Amanda C. Lim, RAFIS11)
