Warm welcome for incoming DavNor officials

Davao del Norte – Outgoing Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario led the provincial officials, executives and employees in welcoming the new Capitol officials, as he passed the baton to incoming Governor Edwin Jubahib Wednesday morning at the Provincial Capitol.

The leaders exchanged pleasantries at the official turnover of accountabilities and responsibilities to the incoming leadership, leaving the vestiges of the hotly-contested election behind.

Gracing the event were incoming Vice Governor Rey Uy, outgoing Senior Board Member Rodolfo del Rosario, Jr., Board Member Hernanie Duco, Board Member Francisco Remitar and Board Member Dindo Parangan.

Incoming Provincial Administrator (PA) Engr. Josie Jean Rabanos introduced her team of new Capitol executives after outgoing PA Samson Sanchez presented the outbound and continuing Capitol executives.

Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Abito Bernasor facilitated the turn over ceremony, as he stressed the importance of effective turnover of responsibility in ensuring continuity in local governance.

Since the first week of June, the Local Governance Transition Team of the province conducted an inventory of the properties and assets of the provincial government, secured all official documents or records of the PLGU official transactions, and preserved all contracts and loan agreements, development plans, full disclosure policy documents, organizational structure, and inventory of personnel by nature of appointment, among other pertinent documents.

Bernasor also reminded the public servants of their responsibility to take care of government properties and facilities.

“We are stewards… so let us always be conscious of taking care of government properties,” the official said.

He explained his office arranged the early turn-over ceremony to give ample time for the new officials to review and verify the properties and assets handed over to them.

The incoming provincial officials are yet to officially take their oath of office in June 30, 2019.

“If we have questions and clarifications, we might no longer have someone to answer if we set the turn-over yet during the official assumption of office of the new officials,” Bernasor said.
