The Enhanced Justice on Wheels (EJOW) visits the provincial capitol of Compostela Valley as they arrive in welcome by Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy in the presence of 2nd District Representative Ruwel Peter S. Gonzaga with a ceremony in honor of their great efforts of developing the program that caters to the citizens who are in need of reachable legal court services.
The visitors are greeted with a warm welcome by the provincial government and the day started off with a motorcade that rounded within Nabunturan, followed by an opening program at the capitol grounds on June 27, 2019.
Hon. Crescenciana D.C Cruz, Executive Judge RTC Br. 3 of Nabunturan, gave the rationale of the activity and format of how EJOW works during the processing of legal court services
“EJOW intends to do court hearings and this would include promulgation of decisions and issuance of orders mostly involving persons deprived of liberty.”, Cruz said
Visitors were greeted by 2nd District Representative Ruwel Peter S. Gonzaga on his welcome address, followed by a message from Hon. Leo Tolentino Madrazo, Deputy Court Administrator of Mindanao. Hon. Carmel G. Grado, Executive Judge RTC Br. 56 of Compostela, also welcomed the guest speaker of the event, Court Administrator from the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Hon. Jose Midas P. Marquez.
Legal services such as court hearings were provided by EJOW in participation with the government of Compostela Valley. Services for court hearings were held inside the buses, mediations were also held at the Social Hall of the provincial capitol with the participation of several regional and municipal trial courts within the province.
A symposium and open forum was also conducted at the Ground Floor Area of the provincial capitol, conducted by the Philippines Judicial Academy (PHILJA). Other services catered were jail visitation, medical clinic services, dental clinic services and legal aid services.
EJOW is a program by the Supreme Court of the Philippines that aims to cater legal court services throughout different areas in the Philippines in moving buses that travel across the country.
