TAGUM CITY – Two military awards have been conferred to Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon in a ceremony held last August 1, 2019 at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
The Military Merit Award (MMM) and the Civil Military Operation Badge were presented to the local chief executive by no less than MGEN Bienvenido R. Datuin, Jr., AFP, the commander of Civil Relations Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CRSAFP).
The awards were given to Rellon to recognize his meritorious and valuable contribution in support to the overall accomplishments of the mission of the Civil Relations Services (CRS) as well as his possession of virtues that are inherent in every CRS warrior: relevant, objective, adept, responsive, committed and service-oriented.
Mayor Rellon, who has the rank of lieutenant colonel, is the Acting Brigade Commander of the 2201st Ready Reserve Brigade as well as the Acting Battalion Commander of the 1102nd Davao del Norte Ready Reserve Battalion under the AFP’s Philippine Army.
It can be recalled that the local chief executive had previously been conferred with the Command Plaque as Best Reservists Officer of the Year in 2017 by the Philippine’s Commander-in- Chief. No less than President Rodrigo Duterte personally awarded the said recognition to Mayor Rellon during the 120th Philippine Army Anniversary.
These awards, according to AFP, are both testaments of the mayor’s excellent leadership and courage not only shown to Tagumenyos but to all reservists under his command. Ziyarah Manalo/CIO Tagum
