A former municipal councilor of Malabang, Lanao del Norte was arrested by alert elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao City while in the act of selling crystal meth (shabu) to a PDEA agent who posed as buyer.
Information released by the office of PDEA regional director Adzhar A. Albani identified the suspect as one
Norwaffy Bugabong Balindong, a former municipal councilor of Malabang
.
He was arrested at 10:10 am Thursday after he was caught in act of selling one sachet of suspected Shabu worth P1,000 to the PDEA agent.
The buy bust operation was conducted by agents from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI together with 305th Air Intelligence and Security Squadron and Intelligence and Detection Management Section of Davao City Police Office at Room 320, Sampaguita Inn, Quirino Avenue, Corner Camus Street, Davao City.
Another sachet of suspected shabu and one match box of suspected dried marijuana leaves were also recovered from his possession.
The suspect is now kept at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI detention facility.
The items taken from him were submitted to the Laboratory Service of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for qualitative and quantitative examination. Cases for violation of Section 5, Section 11 and Section 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being filled against him.
