Ex-soldier neutralized in anti-drug operation

Law enforcers in Compostela Valley Province killed an ex-soldier after an attempt to fireback at the operatives during the implementation of search warrant on Tuesday midnight.

The report of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) identified the killed suspect as Daz Montefolca alias Daks, 42 years old former member of the Philippine Army.

Report bared that around 12:10 a.m. of October 3, operatives of PDEA 11 along with Nabunturan Municipal Police Station, Compostela Valley Province Drug Enforcement Unit, Compostela Valley Province Provincial Public Safety Company and Criminal Investigation and Detection Team of Compostela Valley Province implemented search warrant at the house of Montefolca in Purok 9, Barangay Poblacion, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province .

However during the implementation of search warrant, Montefolca fought and pulled his .38 revolver and exchanged gunfire with the operatives which resulted to his death.

The operatives rushed him to Nabunturan Doctor’s Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Recovered during the anti-drug operation were six sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride known as shabu composed of two big plastic sachets, a medium sachet and 3 small sachets weighing 15 grams with a street value of P180,000, assorted drug paraphernalia and the .38 revolver.

The PDEA 11 reported that his live in partner identified as Nolaizah Lumiguez was also arrested.

Lumiguez, the live in partner of Montefolca is now detained at PDEA 11 detention facility.

The seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted at Laboratory while cases for violation of Section 6, Section 11 and Section 12 of Republic Act 9165 the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against Lumiguez.
