The Davao City government will give incentives to the top three local government offices who will reach the targeted weight loss by December this year.
Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio bared yesterday that she will give P20,000 cash incentives each to the top three offices that will reach 100 pounds weight loss.
“Nag endeavor ang City Government of Davao na mo apil sa 1 Million pounds weight loss challenge so that,nag-advocate og healthy lifestyle for the city employees (The City Government of Davao wants to endeavor to join the 1 Million pounds weight loss challenge for the advocacy of healthy lifestyle for the city employees),”she said.
Duterte-Caprio said that this incentive program is part of the FitFil Weight Loss Challenge as the city vowed to contribute 12,010 pound weight loss.
The mayor said that she is also inviting all the barangays and other national government offices to join the weight loss challenge.
She said that this campaign might encourage the people to make a healthy lifestyle by having the right weight.
“There are deaths that are preventable if the people have a healthy lifestyle and have a right weight also,” she said.
Duterte-Carpio said that the people can save money from buying maintenance medicines because they do not need that if they are healthy.
She said that the city government also spend on the maintenance medicines through the Lingap Para sa Mahirap program which are given to the indigent people.
“Naay ubang tao nga naga-maintenance because of unhealthy lifestyle (There are people who intake maintenance medicine because of their unhealthy lifestyle),” she said.
